love the wood tones

This is a piece of ash that I was talking about a few weeks back and the tones in this wood was great, so I had to carve a Jesus cross
and put a natural finish on it, take a look.
The dark is on the outside and the light tone is right in the middle and it highlights his face.

its great when the wood surprises you and highlights the project. That is what I like most about woodworking, you can never make two exactly alike.

Your right, I have 6 different crosses on different types of woods and each came out great.
