I have had some tagua nuts for awhile now and have only now gotten around to giving one a try. The stuff looks like ivory and seems to me to be ideal for small jewellery or jewellery parts. Miniature lithos could also work. Here is a quick carve with the 1/32" carving bit. I cut off about a 1/4" slice and screwed it to a sled. Carves just great.

Dan,

Simply beautiful. Awe inspiring.

Well, I really have a thing for miniatures, and it doesn't get much better. I see my grand daughters in these, and what an uncommon gift it will be. Thank you for the example!!

Dan, that is super cool. Thanks for sharing the results. The carving looks amazing with the 1/32 bit.

Dan, I'm impressed. That really came out nice. It will certainly be something (something fun) to experiment with. Will have to check about buying some off the internet.

Thanks all. It was a test inspired by Sharon's thread and Smoken D's post in it: http://forum.carvewright.com/showthread.php?29247-New-projects-Necklaces&p=263127#post263127

I am thinking of mounting a whole nut on the rotary jig.

Very cool Dan, I'd really like to see how it works out on the rotary.

Looks like it would make an awesome miniature litho.
