I have been carving the same pattern 5 times in a row. The first two turned out great but the last three have a line where it wasn't carved and it started out like a small line and now is 1/16th thick what is cause this. Also off the wall question what is the red lever on the side of the carvewright? I got this from another person and didn't have instructions

Take a couple photos of your carve so we can help determine possible causes for the lines. Off the top of my head, it could be a tracking issue, or the board was too short to be held captive under both rollers at ALL TIMES, or a dirty encoder. Seeing photos may give better clues.

The red lever is a locking lever. (I never use it myself and most people I've talked to don't use it either.) The idea is, after you have cranked the head down onto the board, you pull out the lever to lock the head in place so it cannot move up from the board. When the project is all done, you push the lever back in before cranking up the head to release the board.

That is the line on the bottom I'm having the issue with. It is wider then the last one I cut.

I may have found the issue there was a small chunk of wood missing on the inside for the track roller. I fixed it and now I will see if it is fixed

Glad it was a simple solution. This is the second one of this type of problem this week. Add this to your start of carve routine to always check the bottom surface/edge of the boards before inserting it into the machine.
