Awhile back we had a discussion about applying a texture on text. Back then we thought it had been solved but apparently not. The procedure was to outline raster text and use the outline to apply the texture and then merge additive. It works on everything except the letters that have centers like the "O", "R", "A", etc. I have tried various combinations of grouping, clipping, merging, etc. without success. I have even tried deleting the outline of the center of the letters and that didn't work either. The texture remains on the centers. I really don't think the Designer is capable of doing it natively.

Try having the texture in the background with merge additive and clip inclusive.

Edit: Now I remember, it was in the post: http://forum.carvewright.com/showthread.php?29050-Put-texture-on-Font&p=261342#post261342

The goal was to have it 3D (in a carve region). Your method works but removes the 3D effect.

Just add a carve region as was in my original post in the other thread.

Grouping the original text and the carve region instead of the outlined text. That works. Thanks Dan.
