My wife's horse is at this farm and the old sign was falling apart so the wife asked me to make a new one. All in all it came out great and they were very thankful for the new sign.

Nice job--very clean design. I like the idea of outlining the horse in white so that it stands out from the background.

Sweet, great job conway. How about giving us some details of what you used. Thanks for sharing.

Happy to CarverJerry. The material was sign board and the project was carved in two pieces and then put together with glue and domino's. Total thickness is 1 1/1 inches. Height is 30 inches by 28 wide. The sign is two sided.

Ok, I'll sacrifice my stupidity and ask the question nobody whats to ask. What are domino's, I'm familiar with biscuits, splines, splices but not the term domino's except for pizza. Thanks John

And great carving how long did it take to carve and what setting did you use?

Domino's are a type of splice put out by Festool, similar to biscuits. http://www.shopfestool.com/festool-domino/

Good looking sign. Nicely done. Also learned something. I also did not know what a domino was. smarter now than yesterday. :)

It is basically a mortise and tenon joint. Very strong and quick and easy to make.

I would love to get the domino system but it is cost prohibitive for me. Most festool tools are.
