Thanks guys! And yes the lids just slide into rabbets cut into the sides.

The lids started out as 1/2" stock, Mike. The main part of the lid is a curved carve region with the edges at 1/4" and the pattern additive to that. Next time I might start with stock a bit thicker so I could get more of a curve and still get good definition of the pattern.
