Carvewright and Rockler

I just received my new Rockler magainze and I did not see any mention of the Carvewright machine, they did have a page for the Sharkpro. Are we still connected with Rockler?

Yes!! The mailer is for their "sale" promotions so that is probably why the CarveWright is not mentioned..

Some other news. Even though they will not ship machines to Canada, it seems they will ship bits and accessories. The shipping is less than the $42 but, unfortunately, it is by UPS.

I used your address, Berg, to see what shipping of the Sign Maker Accessory Box would be and it came to $115.49. UPS Worldwide Expedited was the only option.

So, then I removed that item (thought it was because of weight) and did just a 1/8" cutting bit and it was $82.96. UPS Worldwide Expedited was the only option for it, too.

Those are JUST SHIPPING COSTS.

How are you coming up with less than $42?


OK....I see where you got that $30.15 S&H, but there is also a $78.98 tax added onto it. It doesn't show any duty. Do you have to pay duty charges when you receive it?

Sorry, I thought it was $42 base rate from LHR to Canada. I just tried and it is $45. The shipping from Rockler was something like $16 for a cutting bit but it was UPS. We in Canada HATE UPS from the States. They add extra duty and handling charges. You never know what the hit will be. With USPS, the package usually just comes straight through customs with no charges.

If Rockler would ship USPS, it would be a good thing for us in Canada.

Speaking of accessories, there is a Dust Hood available for the CW on the Rockler site that I have never seen before and it isn't on the Carvewright site.

Our first shipment of the new Dust Hood for CarveWright CX included only enough to supply the Rockler machines. It will be on the store, once we receive our next shipment.
