Any ideas on what I need to do to get them to stand out more on the pattern?

Thanks,

The pattern itself appears to have rounded edges making it difficult to stand out. I tried using Outline Pattern to sharpen, but the outline is very jagged, like the original pattern was much smaller and enlarged the pixel edges are showing. You might try increasing the difference in depth between the background and leaf. If it were me, I would look for a simple leaf graphic online to import and make a crisper pattern.

There was a much better walleye pattern posted

but the link is broken. I hesitate to repost the pattern as it is not mine.

Do you have the original picture?? I'll give it a try if you wish.

Here is my attempt and it still needs refining. I grouped the components and then merged the group. Then I just played with the heights and depths. The quality of the original components is not very good so the overall quality will not be good either.

l Appreciate the help, still does not come out the way I would like.

Need the leaf to standout along with all the 4 season stuff. Will work on it some more.

Need to spend the money and buy the importer, not sure which one and rework this some more.

Thanks,

Maybe you can use this one I made. (You might try inverting the leaf so everything else "pops".)

These badges are very difficult to make. See the post by Alan http://forum.carvewright.com/showthread.php?27586-Carving-A-Police-Department-Badge&p=247524#post247524

He may be you man.

The glare from a photo no matter how good makes it very hard to make a decent pattern of a badge. I ask if they can get me the line art their badge design or a graphic they use for web postings, stationary, etc. Another option I found was going to the web sites for some of the badge companies that have a virtual badge designer or badge builder program. Smith and Warren or Blackinton. You can use the design options on the site and save the image, this works a lot better in the pattern editor software than a photo.

I know I am late to the party. Made a version as well. Not exact either and it has to be a large carve to capture the detail. If it may work PM you email address and I'll email it to you.

Oscar
