My better-half decided she wanted a head board for our spare bed to match the pine bedroom furniture, so i came up with this. ( See pictures). I discovered some new techniques to carving as I exceed the memory card limits on the lower half of the design. I designed it to be on 2 pieces of 12" by 3/4" pine. Each plank 84" long. I have a couple of rollers I put at either end of the machine for long planks. As the lower panel couldn't be made as one carve I halved the design and carved it twice juggling the plank around between carves. The carve went well and after some cutting, glueing, sanding and varnishing, the project was approved to be used. That's George in the picture who helps me out in the garage(aka workshop) sometimes.

Cheers

Dave

Dave,
Took on a headboard project a couple of years ago where I added on to our existing headboard to go from a queen to king size... But holy cow this is beautiful, sure shadows mine in comparison... Very nice job.

Thanks for the comments.

The top board with the curves took 4hrs 50 minutes. The lower panel took 2 hrs 30 minutes times 2 as I had to carve it in two goes.

Great work, Dave! Amazing what can come out of our CarveWright machines (with the help of your imagination and design skills)!

Thanks everyone for the feedback. But sad to say carving is hold right now. In the middle of my latest effort, a sign for our local vineyard, the power supply board blew - no 24volts. CW doesn't have any old boards in stock so I have to wait for the new ones and special cables... But that's life.

Gary,
can you send a pic of your headboard? I want to add to a queen sized headboard.
