I have a jpeg of this company logo. When I imported the jpeg into CW, a box appeared around the logo. Here's how it will carve. But I want the logo without the box. Is there any way to get rid of the box?80940

I think all you have to do is uncheck floor feather and set feather to zero. Maybe others have additional suggestions.

The box was because of the white background of the graphic. I removed the background. I do not know what size you were going for. See if you can work with this:

If this is what you are looking for:

I used Photoshop to remove the white background and clean up the color. I also changed all parts of the "Q" to the same color so they will carve at the same depth.

1. Import the image
2. Drag pattern onto a 28" by 4" board
3. Remove the feather
4. Set merge to subtract
5. Set Bit Optimization to Best
6. Set depth to .35"

This will work in version 1.187 also.

EDIT: It looks like Bergerud and I were responding at about the same time.

They sure are the best .... I luv the way the troops circle to help ... I'm terrible with patterns and such, so I need the community, they have never failed me ..

Sorry to butt in here, but what is "floor feather?" Lurking through other questions is where I get some of the best ideas on how to use this machine.

Some patterns, when created, do not have a perfectly flat bottom. This tends to make a jagged outline around the pattern when it is placed on the board. Floor feather flattens the bottom of the pattern.

This is a good tutorial for importing images.

As you requested in your email, here is the sign with the "Sequel" and "Response" separated. I used Photoshop and Corel Draw to do most of the work so I won't outline the steps here. The words are separate patterns and can be extracted or copied and pasted to any project. You may use them any way you wish but, since this is a "for profit" project for one of your customers this will be a one time shot.
