Robert, beautiful plaque. Great detail with the 1/32 bit.

Curious on how long did that take to carve?

Outstanding work Robert! I like the layout of the butterflies! 1/32nd bit brings out the details nicely.

The 2 stain technique worked well. I will have to remember that. About the white stain. I had been using a "Winter White", but Minwax stopped carrying it so I had to go to White Pickling stain (water-base). I dont't like it as much. What is the white stain you used? And what kind of wood is that. The effect is very antique.

Clint,

I have used the White Pickling as you have and did not care for it.

The wood is Select Pine.

Two stain colors used.
Antique White and then Wheat.
Board is 12" x .5" x .5
Carved with the 1/32 bit

Stain is Rust-Oleum

Any other question please feel free to ask.

Very nice, really like the finish. We use Rust-Oleum, or Varathane on our projects also.

Some times the simplicity of a design makes for a beautiful sign and yours defiantly fits into that category Robert.
