Elves and Santa getting ready for Christmas. This project only took a year and a half and used 97 different mpc files, some from Carvewright, 2 from pattern sharing and a whole bunch of my own making. The carousel turns and the deer go up and down while Christmas carols are played. You can see it in motion at facebook.com/jackboggio.

You have redefined the terms "project" and "carvoholic". You and that project need really need to be written up on the CW Build Blog.

I don't know if it will work but here is an unedited version of the booklet I kept as I built the carousel. Apparently the pdf file will download to your computer and then you can open it.

This project needs to be in the next CW contest, maybe if they have one for the conference you should enter it. Although, who could compete with this! Great Job!

At the very least, a large photo or photos, of the project should be displayed prominently at the 2016 conference

I'm really impressed with the carousel and the time you've put into the project. Hope you don't hide it away and only use it at Christmas.

Jkbogi,
I agree with Sharon if you put that away till the holidays, you're doing Santa and reindeer a disservice. Beautiful job, man I wish I had that talent...

Fantastic project! Thanks for providing the pdf detail. You are a master of design, aesthetics, and many woodworking and fabricating techniques. I like the way that you experimented with different mechanics and electronics to get the desires result. I don't have a lathe and have no skills at hand carving, but was thinking to myself that the Carvewright could also be used in place of a lathe to fabricate the slip ring contact device that you made with a lathe, and carve the back side of the reindeer legs - at least I would have to do it that way.

Awesome job!
