hello everyone, i have attached a project that i am having a problem with. maybe its not a problem and my limited knowledge is just confusing me. i have a 9" circle, in the center of a 12" x 18" board. I want to have arcing text top and bottom, both centered on the y axis so it is centered in the circle. for some reason, it is to the right and cockeyed a little bit. The left side comes closer together rather than being the same amount on both sides. i have noticed it in other projects when needing to have arced text match up to a curve. has anyone else ran into this?? thanks for the help in advance.

Have you tried the Decorate with Text? Draw some arcs and have the text follow them. There is more control than with the text arc thing.

Remember to draw the line in the direction you want the text to go (usually left to right). It must also be an open (non-closed) region. You can draw the circle as a guide, but use the arch tool for the text along a path feature.

because i dont know much about the tool, does it matter if i use the center text part within the decorate with text tool.

I believe you can use Centerline Text.

no, no. in the decorate with text tool, there is an option to justify the text to the right, centered, or left. does it matter which way you draw the line if you use the justify option???

I think the problem was using "Center: Horizontal". I centered it manually, increased the depth to match the background, and adjusted the arcs a little. I also added a couple of spaces before "United" to make the text come out even.

Top arc was drawn right to left.
Bottom arc was drawn left to right.

See difference in direction it prints the text.

This is how the Alignment feature works.
