Here is my first project and of course after a few practice runs, this is what I end up with.

What kind of wood did you use and also lower the height of the text. Were you in normal or best mode.

Looks like the same type of stuff was happening to me with the new v.1.120..
You really should post all the particulars of your system, wood, how you made the mpc, etc or we really can't help.

Thats one of the problems I'm having. CW is sending me some type of sensor to replace. I'll report back with the results when I get it and install it. I feel your pain, hang in there the CW team is working on the bugs.

Also check if your bit is tight.

Aspen is a light fine looking wood, I use a lot of it in my regular work because it is so soft and pulpy,
It's good for hand carving but machines poorly.
At least that's been my experience.

Looks like some of my earlier stuff. Standard responses: are you Under Rollers? Make sure your bit is in there properly. After you insert the bit, check the play at the bottom tip (remember its sharp). As the QC gets worn it takes extra attention to make sure the bit is completely secured.

Should I expect better results? I haven't done the expensive wood yet. I have tried ash, pine, red oak and some German pieced together pine (carves well, very flat). I get lots of fuzzies. Looks okay after brushing with nylon brush and staining however.

Should I expect better?

Looking at your list of woods that you’ve carved most of them are relatively soft, wide grain woods.
If you can try a project using maple or white oak,
some of your best results will come from harder straighter grain woods.
And as always do a search on the subject on the forum. " Best Woods"
