I got the firmware reversal from Chris Morlier today. Copy of email follows.
"To roll back to 1.115, I would recommend keeping the 1.120 designer, and follow these instructions:
1) Download the firmware image from http://www.carvewright.com/downloads/firmware/control_1_115.mwm (we also have 1.117 and 1.120 images in the same location, just change the numbers as appropriate.
2) Select File->"Flash Manager" (with your flash card installed)
3) Press the Firmware button and then the Choose button.
4) Finally, navigate to wherever you saved the file from step 1, select it, and click open.
The firmware should update on your card. Keep the firmware image file available in case you need to re-upload it to the card."
I gather that this only changes the machine control logic & that one can run either 1.115 or 1.120. I'm going to try my machine back on v.1.115 as I personally had no problems with it until I updated.
