help with head cover

Ok so I took off my head cover to replace the brushes in the motor now I have to put it back on and I am a little confused.
there are a black and skinny white wire on the motor a black and white wire from the machine and a black and white wire from the cover. what goes where I assume the black from the motor goes to the black from the machine then what?

Black motor to black machine - good. Now the black and white cover wires connect to the two whites. The one white from the motor and the white from the bottom of the machine. Which cover wire to which white wire does not matter. The cover switch just connects the two whites when the cover is closed.

Thank you I am going to try a carve tomorrow and see if the cut motor is fixed I ran a cut motor test and it ran so we will see if it solved the problem by changing the brushes.
