Hello,

The Country Farm Clock makes a great addition to any country-style decor. (A country kitchen comes to mind!)

The sample shown here is finished with a stain and glaze technique, but the farm girl and barn scene can be painted with acrylic or oil paints for an enhanced and colorful Folk Art appearance!

The project uses just the 1/16" Carving Bit and the 1/8" Cutting Bit. No other bits are required. The Country Farm Clock is about 8.75" wide x 16.5" tall x 2.25" deep.

Main items you will need:
1) The Project Files (included):
• Farm_Clock_FRONT.mpc
• Farm_Clock_BACK.mpc

2) Boards with the following dimensions:
FRONT: 0.75" x 11" x 24"
BACK: 0.75" x 11" x 24.5"

Do not use boards that are smaller than specified above unless using an appropriate jig. Larger boards are fine in all cases.

3) A 5-7/8 inch clock insert (I used model #15342 from http://www.klockit.com)

4) Sandpaper, glue, epoxy, stain and/or paint and clear finish

5) A Dremel-type rotary tool with assorted sanding wheels and bits to sand small details and speed up preparation for finishing.

Apply stain/paint and clearcoat of your choice. Here’s what I used on my Country Farm Clock made from Select Pine:

• One coat of thinned Bulls Eye SealCoat
(50/ 50 sealer and denatured alcohol)
• Sanded again with very fine sandpaper & Dremel
• One coat Bulls Eye SealCoat full-strength
• 2 coats of Krylon Crystal Clear Gloss Acrylic spray
• Rust-Oleum Ultimate Stain - Wheat
(applied as a glaze over the sealed wood...brush on, then wipe off high spots and dry-brush overall while stain is still wet)
• Several coats of Krylon Clear Acrylic as final topcoat

Got it uploaded tonight. I will send out the POM email in the morning, after it has had time to process in the database.

I was wondering if anyone would notice the time shown on the clock. For my own amusement, I set the clock to 12:09...the same as the date I posted the project preview here on the forum. I like to entertain myself in ways like this (for some weird reason), but seldom reveal my little quirks!

The time on the clock could have been a good contest.

In what it might have referred to.
