While taking apart an A machine I purchased for first cleaning we found the part below:
78323

It is 1 3/8 long with a break along the left edge. It is about 9/16 wide, metal.

It was found in the sawdust under the cover on the keypad side.

I am going to go with that it is not a CW part. Just something that fell in and came for the ride!

Since it is an A machine it could be the old homing sensor bracket, but it looks like it was broken off. The 2 screws, spares!

The piece was mounted on the keyboard side of the machine and when the Y truck moved to the keyboard side the piece went into the sensor shown in this thread http://forum.carvewright.com/showthread.php?6744-What-s-this-that-broke-off-my-machine&highlight=homing+sensor

I agree... In the early "A" the metal fin would pass through a photo detector slit and use that to find home. The detector was on the side of the Truck and is the most posted "what is it?" from the years 2008 and 2009... The sensor would fall off. That was back in the days of the 18 pin FSC Cable.

This picture shows the fin and sensor in action.

Only from experience did I know what it was. But I was wrong about it's location. Al has the picture!
