Problem with Make Vector Group

I have used Make Vector Group in the past and it worked just fine. Now for some reason I can't even get it work correctly with just a simple square and circle that are not overlapping. After I create the circle and square in designer and then click on the icon for Make Vector Group, the next window opens and I select all and then OK. At this point, it just goes back to Designer and all I see are the vector lines I created with nothing else shown. I have tried different settings within the hardware acceleration, but nothing seems to work. Suggestions PLEASE. :confused:

Click on the shapes in the vector group window before you press ok?

I am not understanding what you mean. I don't see anywhere to click on shapes. I have attached some pictures of what I see when trying to Make Vector Group.

Thanks Dan, I knew it would be something simple. I had even read both the PDF tutorials on doing the chip carving and it just didn't sink in.
