I started a carving and in a very short time, the cut motor quit. All other functions seemed to be working normally. I tried a different cut file (one that had already been done). Everything worked as normal except the cut motor would not spin. I want to test the cut motor first. Is it a 110 volt AC motor?

It is 110 AC. You can test it with line voltage. But first check the right cover switch.

I would also check the back right hand connections under the cover, they sometimes get bumped by the truck moving back and forth.

Second the cut motor brushes. And check both, that caught me last time, I checked the top one and it looks OK, I assumed the bottom was worn about the same, it was not and needed changed. I didn't check it until I had spent hours looking elsewhere.

Strap or leave the motor screwed down or it will fly off the work bench and smash the case....
