Made this for a Vietnam vet. He had requested to have one made with the era correct M14 and metal helmet. Carving is over 3 ft tall. The background was made of 1/2" plywood and painted with "flag stripes", because I figured the carving would break at the weak point where the barrel meets the boots. Attached a metal post on the back to put in yard. Came out pretty good.

Thank you for your work, I'm sure the vet greatly appreciates what you put into it. Final product looks great and having to make it able to be placed outside added to your load. Really wonderful to see a project that in any way shows our support for a vet. Thx for sharing.
