Been using Liquid Wrench with Molly since I bought one of the first Compucarve machines many years ago. My bottler is almost gone and I can't find any Liquid Wrench with Molly althogh I have found it with Cerflon.

Is this stuff as good as the original with Molly for use on the flexshaft?

I was just looking to see what I could find and stumbled upon this http://www.amazon.com/Cyclo-C-661-6PK-Heavy-Chain-Cable/dp/B003XZHC4G/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1425156519&sr=8-10&keywords=molybdenum+disulfide+oil
It seems very expensive compared to what I paid for my can of Liquid Wrench Lube years ago.

And, even more costly is http://www.amazon.com/Crown-7043-MOLY-OPEN-CHAIN/dp/B005EO3HPC/ref=sr_1_25?ie=UTF8&qid=1425157561&sr=8-25&keywords=molybdenum+disulfide+oil

This sounds interesting http://www.amazon.com/Bike-Dri-Slide-4oz-Needle-Nozzle/dp/B001F2Y25G/ref=sr_1_62?ie=UTF8&qid=1425157866&sr=8-62&keywords=molybdenum+disulfide+oil

LHR has something that they recommend on their site.

What about this?

That sounds good, and certainly cheaper than the ones I found.
I wonder if they can be purchased individually?

From what LHR has said the new formula of liquid wrench does not work for the flex shaft. I would either go with LHR approved lube or CranCam lube with molly http://autoplicity.com/1452128-crane-super-moly-assembly-lube?utm_source=GoogleShopping&utm_medium=CSE&utm_content=1452128NOFITMENT&utm_campaign=GSNOFITMENT&gclid=CLaAwMDzhcQCFciGfgodsRkAbg

I don't know about all of these suggestions, you guys, but we sell what we have tested. It has molybdenum and graphite in it.

The LiquidWrench lube formulation was changed a while back so what we had back then is no longer available and the new formulation does not work.

I would go with the CarveWright lube or get some of this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/crn-99002-1

Check "Big Lots". I found some a few years ago and took the entire shelf. Cans were $2 each. Might be worth a check if you have one around. It was the Liquid Wrench with Molly. I always had a heating problem with the shaft till I soaked it in this stuff over night. Haven't had a problem since.:D

I just renamed this thread. I have had several "discussions" with customers and want to make it CLEAR. They changed their formula and it is NO LONGER EFFECTIVE on the flexshaft.

I agree with Al Who, et. al. (pun intended). Unless you really like burning up money, time, and flex cables, use the stuff that LHR sells. Since I've used their goop I haven't lost a cable - a period of years. Before that I burned two of them using stuff that was "recommended" by others as acceptable. It really stinks up the shop.

Many have tried other stuff including Motor Rebuilding products but why gamble with the money...

Speaking of AL Who... that comes from years ago when I called LHR Tech Support to ask a question and they said "AL Who".... And here I thought I was such a PITA (Pain in the Butt) that I thought they all knew me by name... See I was new once.....

I called the other day to ask about cut motor armatures and may have even spoken to Connie....

That is what I use as well Henry. I do not think it is sold any more in the States. The States seems to only have an "improved" version which is clear with synthetic moly. DO NOT USE this one.

This is the stuff I have. The Old Liquid Wrench Chain Lube with Moly product #PL711 I believe it was once suggested for the CW years ago.

That is the same stuff we still have in Canada. Dark gray and messy. That is an even earlier can.
