Carving Time

This is one for the *just wondering file* I carved a plaque this evening. No pic's only words with the 90 bit only. Draft=4hours, Normal=4 hours, Best=4 hrs, 1 min. Optimal 4 hrs 2 min. I was feeling crazy so I picked Optimal. Actual carving time was 6 hours 8 minutes. It all came out great.

Just an FYI. The carve time clock starts running as soon as you select the project on the key pad and ends when the carve has completed. Any delays/idle time during that is on the clock. So if the machine sits waiting for a bit change the clock is still running.

Not saying that was your case with the 6 hours vs the 4 hours predicted with the optimal choice.

Thanks Floyd, I did stop it 3 times to see how the lettering was turning out, as there is so much of it. As well, just wanting to make sure that the font that I chose and the size of letters that there was no *break out*. Each stop time, maybe a minute each and start up was usual 10 minutes +-.
