Card Reader

Our Card Reader has stopped working and of course we have some orders we need to get done. We contacted CarveWright sales and the readers are back ordered until next month. Does anyone know where we can get one or is there another type of reader that will work? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have tried Amazon, Home Depot, LHR Technologies and several other places, Home Depot quit selling them, Amazon has the card only, and LHR has them on back order until next month. Thank you for your responses.

Have you tried rebooting your computer or trying a different USB port? Do any of the lights come on the programmer when it's plugged into the computer?

I have a back up, but I am about 20 miles west of fort worth.
I would be willing to lend it to you, but do not want to be in your same predicament.
I have a lot of orders coming up and don't want to chance not being able to complete them buy selling you mine.
expedited shipping etc…. would be more than the unit itself.

They must have updated availablity. It did show available when I was online this morning. Now shows out of stock at Home Depot.

Just a heads up on when you order these items from other sites (amazon, home depot and etc.) other than maybe Ebay, when you place the order through them LHR gets a notification and the parts are shipped by LHR.

Can you give us a little more information on what problems you are having with your card?

Off-topic a little. I just tried to locate the card-reader in my area (Ohio) and was surprised at not finding one.
Last year I was able to get an unused machine for next-to-nothing, but it had nothing but the machine.
I went on-line to Lowes and bought a card-reader, card, and bits for $28 and change for each item, all priced the same.
Now I see that Sears has a card for $99, I did really well last year I guess.

Yes you did! I do not think Lowe's even sells the CarveWright system any more..

yes i rebooted computer, the only light that comes on is the green one......when i plug the usb in my computer says it does not recognize the usb device. I have tried my wifes computer and tried different usb plugs and it does the same thing.

my computer is not recognizing the usb reader...

You cannot see the card reader device through windows explorer or anything else. Only recognized through designer software. Try accessing your card through designer > file > flash manager.

If u have any projects on the card u will be able to see them in top right window.

I am also looking for a card reader if anyone has any idea on where one might be found. I have one on order, but like everyone says they are out of stock. Dave, I got lucky and found someone that had an extra one........keep trying someone out there will have one that they are not using. I was told they are back ordered from carvewright until the end of march.

Thanks. I have one on backorder, I am like a kid in a candy shop. I got the machine for a reasonable price. It was missing the reader and the card. I got the card and the machine checks out. I just need a reader/writer to complete the package. I keep looking and asking. I found a guy in Canada that said he had one, but he hasn't agreed to sell it yet. Thanks. Dave
