View Full Version : Rock Chuck?

Does anyone know if CW-Parts is still in business? I ordered some new bits for my rock chuck, but they were never delivered. Consequenly, PayPal, which is their only payment method allowed, backed out the charges.

To be fair, I got a personal email from Ron, and they had a tragic house fire. So, I emailed him back and said I understood. He said he could find the parts, but nothing ever showed up.

So I am considering to moving back to the CW chuck.

Your thoughts and/or suggestions would be most welcome.

Dave

If you were only ordering bits, why not just buy the bits elsewhere?

Dave,

Didn't know about the fire... sorry to hear about that.... I get bits from other places....

If you decide to go with a CT, I am willing to buy your Rock for my stock. I got 2 last week.

Thanks,

AL

Like Al, I was unaware of Ron having a house fire.
Through the years I have tried to stay in touch with my fellow
Ohio CW owner, but he has not responded in the past two years.

Also like Al, I would be interested in the chuck, especially if it is 1/4".

You can find new bits on eBay. The Rock chuck is a really nice holding device for the Carvewright, the only way I would get rid of it is if you were going to go with the Carvetight system.

Al,
So do you know if he is up and running again? I have tried emailing him, but never got a response.

Henry,

Yes they do sell the CT chuck as a "you install" ...http://store.carvewright.com/product.php?productid=20563&cat=285&page=1

You do get a core charge back if you send your old truck back in...

You have to but the whole z truck with the spindle in it. They do not sell just the spindle.

If you are talking about the CT and bearing, yes the CT is all one piece. The bearing set up is exactly the same as it was for the QC. Same bearings and tolerance rings.
