I wanted to share the painting process on this to get the rust finish. I found this reactive paint made by a company called Modern Masters, really cool stuff. The paint I used on this contains iron dust and uses an acid to react with the paint to give the old rusted look. in the process pics you how it works, after the coats of paint dried I sprayed on the acid and in a matter of minutes the rust appears.

That is truly unbelievable I really thought I was looking at a metal sign. Excellent carving and painting.

My kind of stuff, Robert! You did an excellent job. If it were up to me, all I would do is SteamPunk and faux finishes!
