assert macro failed error 87

I received the following error when trying to do a project. Assert macro failed error 87. Can anybody help?

Was this error from the machine or from your computer? If from the machine was it in operation etc. Please provide a detailed description of the problem.

The machine was in operation and the bit came out and I put the bit back in and got same fault. During homing the z axis is hesitating not going smooth in down position.

Have you ugraded your firmware to 1.119?

also I moved the z axis by hand up and down and it feels like its rubbing against something or hanging up.

I just had a Y Axis Stall and the carving bit plunged clear through a piece of 3/4 inch red oak. Now when I try to start a project I'm getting the ASSERT Macro error 87.
What next?

i had a y axis stall and was told by a cw tech to tighten the y axis belt. did so but now the bit plunged to the bottom and i get the assert code 87 also
