3.0 and puffing

I recently purchased 3.0 and I'm working on my first project with it instead of the basic designer. When I tried to use surface puffing to some text that I placed I received a message that I was in Demo mode and would not be able to save or upload while using this feature, would I like to set surface puffing anyway?
What does this mean, I thought that the puffing feature was a part of version 3.0

Puffing is part of the 3d add on:

You can use the demo mode to see what it would look like but you cannot save or carve it unless you buy the add on.

No, you need to buy the 3D add on to use puffing or any of the 3D tools with all versions of designer..
