Trouble is back again, I am ready to try for the fourth time

Hi, I am ready to try and learn again, someday I will get it. I was trying to make a pattern and what I did was do the left side 1st got it sized the way I wanted and was trying to do the same on the other side however now I don't get the choice to mirror vertically? Am I going about this wrong? If I follow the tutorial step by step I can not get it sized right? Any help or cuetoes would help:confused::confused:

You can't mirror mirrored objects. Delete all of the mirrors, select the original and then select "mirror:all"
