I have one more special project to deliver today. Even though it is Christmas Day and not Christmas Eve, it should look better in the daylight :) . My sister lost her husband,Mike, earlier this year. He was a great guy and always fun to be around. He left us young in age, but his memories live on in a lot of folks. I wanted to do something to help remember him by and my sister thought a box to hold his ashes would be nice, so here it is.It is made of walnut and my bride did her usual super finishing job on it. Mike and my sister loved to camp at Saxon Harbor, WI so I included an aerial view. They also loved the Packers (not sure why...kidding) so a Packer "G" was also made part of the box. I was able to carve his picture on the top as well. He was wearing a hat in the picture which was most of the time. I hope my sister likes the box. Mike was special to many of us and I think this will be an appropriate resting place for him...

Thank you all for the kind words. We just got back from my sister's house. There were a lot of family there including my 2 nephews. They were all very happy with the box and really appreciated that my wife and I built and finished it for them. The plastic box that came from the funeral home fit like a glove inside so I was really happy :) .... It was a very good afternoon...

Very Nice gesture ... Lots of emotion in that piece of work I bet .. I remember last year when I had to make one for my baby brother ... That was my toughest project ..
