Just finished this project, this was a request for 2 shows back.
The lighting in the room does not help.

Very nice litho and love the frame. Did you know that with a light diffuser that you can purchase at any hardware store, you can use a socket and regular light bulb. That way, the whole litho is lighten up. Matter of taste.
Thanks for sharing!

Regular light bulbs do get very hot in the enclosure. As do Halogen puck lights. I use 20 count christmas string lights, $1.99 at hobby lobby. LED's are the best but I think still too expensive.

The picture does not do it justice, the regular bulb would cause too much heat inside as where the led light causes no or very little heat. I test it for a could of hours and there was not heat.

I made a luminary for my dad and I never turned it off since last summer and no heat problem what so ever. Probably depends on the bulb I guess.

Yours works because of the open top and large area within to allow heat to dissapate. In a closed box or shadow box a regular bulb will get very, very hot.

With a close box, I totally agree!

Very nice, I will have to try this someday. How does the carvewright bit handle the corian?

This is how I make my lighted lithopane boxes...
