While trouble shooting with chris on the other end of the phone. It was discovered one of the two spades for the motor had broken under the printed cuircut card where it is solderd to the card. if I pushed on the card it would go through the homing stage. my hands not fast enough or safe enough to keep up to carve.

Joe, could you effect a temporary fix with a solder of the broken connection to keep you going until the board is replaced?

I tried to fix with 60/40 solder. did not hold Then i tried with some 98%tin and 2% silver. This got me up and running for about another 20 minutes of cutting. the area to solder to under the card was to small.

Joe,

If you can perform another silver solder (it's usually stronger expecially for small connections), then put a strong layer of epoxy resin over the connection (non-conductive) that might hold you together long enough to wait for the replacement board. Worth a try.
