I want to thank Michael for the Owl pattern... here are the first three and have several more to carve. The two litho's were carved in cast acrylic. The first one is a composite of four photos. The second one was from a very old photo and not in that good of shape so was happy that it even carved.72266722657226872269

Beautiful paint jobs, wish I had the patience for that kind of work. Most of mine get a coat of stain and a couple clear coats.

Its is amazing that the lithos can bring out an old photo even a really bad one.

Sharon,

Fantastic work on the owls, your colors are beautiful. What paint are you using? Amazing what a litho does to a treasured photo.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. I was really surprised to see the owls being featured on LHR's Facebook page...thank you for the recognition. Carved two more owls today so will be back painting again soon.

The owls came out great and of course highlighted with a wonderful job on the painting. They lithos look great as well and you do get a feel that the picture is from a bygone time. I am glad the carving captured that. :)

Thank you Oscarl48, Henry, and Capt. Bruce. When you have a great pattern it's easy to put a finish on it.

ktjwillams and farmer thank you for your comments. I won't have the slightest idea how to put anything on YOUTUBE, sorry.

I think most people are afraid they are going to make a mistake but heck....when applying paint you can always repaint if you don't like the color combinations you picked out the first time. I also have a large photo reference file and/or go on line to get an idea what colors might go together for the project that I'm working on. With the owls, I had about 8 reference photos that gave me ideas of what color combinations I might want to produce. Or You can come over for coffee and we'll sit down and paint. Sharon
