I too am sorry if I make the old timers groan, however I have watched and tried to edit my picture using the crop tool. I enclosing my picture showing that I can get the dancing ants around most of my picture but not all? I need to delete all the noise, so I can tweak the picture a little better. I want to eventually remove the numbers so I can use the text utensil. I would appreciate if someone could explain the part that I am not getting. I have tried clicking all different places but nothing works to outline the whole picture with ants. Please give me some patience so I can learn this. Thanks :?::):) Be Happy

Lori:

I don't know what you are talking about with dancing ants, but this project should be done creating it on your own...not importing a photograph.

Lori,

You will not be able to use the pattern editor to add ants, that should be done in Designer. You will need a pattern of the ants to do this.

To remove the numbers, use the dropper tool on the background area outside of the numbers. Then use the eraser tool to remove the numbers.

I just heard the "dancing ants" term myself a few weeks ago. Apparently it is the "selection box" in many programs because it looks similar to ants running in line.

I am not sure what you are telling me. I thought you can take a photo, and thru pattern editor use the crop tool to remove all the noise in back of picture. This is the exact shape I wanted and with the fillagree only on top. If I am doing this wrong, then I am not sure as to how I would create it myself. I am willing to learn and I do try to learn it on my own before I come to the forum. I use ask Bud all the time to learn things. Would appreciate any pointers you have. Thanks:p

Lori - use the rectangle tool (in PE) to outline what you want to keep, then select "Edit..Crop"

Well that makes sense if that is what she is talking about. If so to increase the area that the magic wand selects increase the tolerance tool numbers. You might have to either use the erase tool to clean up the edges or even the trip edge tool.

There are many already made options and patterns to create something close to what you want.
