First off I need to thank Chief2007…thanks Steve for your help with the AO wings pattern.

So the wings are about 12" cut out of 1" stock to really give the round shape to the center pot. I was scratching my head on how to mount and then the idea of making a red shirt jumped out and spoke to me. For those not familiar, on the flight deck we wear different color jerseys according to our jobs. Green = maintenance, Yellow = directors, and Red = Ordnance. It just seemed fitting to mount the wings to a red shirt.

The first coat of red paint failed to highlight the creases in the shirt so I went back and painted the base black. I sanded off the high spots and then went back over with the red to give it that fresh out of the ship's laundry look.

Great work, before reading the post I thought you had taken a copy of the shirt and carved the pattern. But, after reading the post and looking at the shirt, brought back memories of starched fatigues in the Army, LOL.

Great carving of the Navy Ordnance Wings and a terrific idea for the red shirt as a mounting board. Bravo Zulu
