I haven't been doing many projects lately as life and bigger jobs have gotten in the way, but here's a few I'll share.

The first is a memorial plaque, the quote and the lilac drawings were provided by the client and I converted to vector from there and presented to the family.

Secondly is a sign I made for a friend's local farm.

Third is a sign I made as a birthday gift for an 80 year old lady who is a yard sale addict.

The last item was made without the CW, though it could be, and is kind of a joke/pun. I posted it online asking what it was just to see what the answers were. I gave the clue:

Whatzit?
While these may have been available since the early 1900's, the popular commercially-made variations of this object did not appear until the early 70's.
This particular variation has a spring loaded arm which can be released to exert pressure on the inserted object/coin.
I have little doubt nearly everyone I know has seen a variation of these before.
So, what is it?

Ponder on that a few minutes, if you give up you can go to rot13.com and decode the text "dhnegrecbhaqrejvgupurrfr"

The whatz-it looks sorta like a notary public seal embossing tool.

I think the Whatzit could have the same name as a large food chain menu item.

gRoan.... I'd have never gotten that joke/pun in a million years.... You need to paint that whatzit the right colors.

The whatzit is a newer version of the old victorian envelop wax sealer.. you place melted was onto the
brass disk that has your image or initials on reverse and then place your envelop seal side down and snap the
spring loaded handle and you have a perfect round sealed envelop everytime.

I had a lot of people guessing wax seal. Mouse trap and nut cracker were very common guesses. One of the funnier guesses was a fly swatter for very slow flies.
And yet a few days ago I had a 4 year old girl who guessed correctly with nowhere near the clues I have given to adults. It'd be nice to have a young mind open to all possibilities.
