I make spinning tops for a charitable organization. After carving the tops, I need to drill a hole in the exact center. Could a 3/8" router bit get mounted in the spindle and be programed to just drill straight down and back up?

The drill function does not have a 3/8" bit selection. You could use the 3/16" bit and have it drill out to the 3/8" diameter.

You could create a 1/8" hole with the 1/8" bit in the Designer and when the machine asks for the 1/8" bit, insert the 3/8" bit instead. However, this may overstress the cut motor and/or other components on the machine.
