I been wanting for awhile now to learn some type of 3-D modeling software, I am wanting to know if Daz 3-D software would be a good place to start, and if someone has used it and what they might think of it...

Daz 3D is software for making 3D scenes with figures and objects purchased from Daz 3D (or made in a program called Poser). You can manipulate and export some nice pre-made 3D meshes using Daz 3D but it is not good for creating new stuff from scratch. It is mostly about adding (pre-made) textures to meshes to make realistic 3D scenes.

I have been thinking about using it to make scenes and then using Blender to convert the scenes to bas relief.
