Steve. Can I add your videos to the cw website?

Connie,

Yes you may add them anywhere you wish. A big thank you to all who commented.

Note: I made a couple of small mistakes in the video and tried to correct them but, I messed up the whole video and had to record it over again. If you are having trouble with the link, wait for a few minutes and try again.

I know this is a time consuming task. Wish we had time to do these things. Ppl like you and many other customers that help us out are what keep us going.

(If I tried to name you all, I would unfortunately, leave someone out of the list!)

Okay, the video is fixed. I had to re-record it but, I think this one turned out better anyway. The link in either post will take you to the same place.

My compliments Steve on a great tutorial of your weave pattern development. You have made using these features easier for all of us and undoubtedly inspired some thinking on other developments that can be made using these steps in your technique. You have got me thinking. Excellent video so yes please do share more as you have time.

I started to do the weave pattern, and already hit a snag, it says I have a restraint, and don't know what to press to remove the restraint.

You need to attach each of the vertices to the edge and .1" from the top. Then manually bring down the top of the arc by clicking and holding the left mouse button on the green center button in the arc and drag it down to just below the top of the board.

Here is a variation when making the weave pattern.

If you intend to use the pattern in a carve region in your project you can eliminate the carve region from the weave pattern itself when making it. Two carve regions really are not necessary. I included it in the video so the final pattern could be used more universally.

This video is awesome! Thank you, Steve. What software is required to make this pattern? I have version 2.xx and advanced 2D. When I started the process, I received a message that I was using the extrude function in demo mode and would not be able to save it. Do I need additional software for this project?

You can use version 1.187, version 2, or version 3 but, you will need the 2D and the 3D add-on tools. The message you received indicates you will have to purchase the 3D add-on.
