I need to carve a surface with and exact slope angle, in this case 7 deg.

I do not see a way to do this. I am probably blind, my wife thinks so. What is the best way to create an exact angle?

What is your software setup. Do you have 3D tools? If not explain exactly what you need and maybe the forum can help.

I have the base Carvewright software and what comes with the probe.

I need to create something similar to a ramp that is at a 7 deg angle to the horizontal. I then need to mount something to the top of the ramp. I need 7 deg to make the overall geometry work.

My best idea to date is to cut a piece of wood to the 7 deg angle and then use the probe to capture the change in the grayscale changes to match the angle. I am hoping I can do something just with the software, it should be easier if possible at all.

Thanks,

This is a job for extrude. Give the dimensions you want and I can make it and post the pattern.

The ramp needs to be 1.5" wide, 4.0" long, and the incline needs to start upward 1/4" from the base at a 5 deg angle, I rechecked my math to get the correct angle.

What software pack is extrude part of?

Is this something like you need? You can edit the png in PE.

Is it possible to make a png, pmw, ptn with 3d tool?

Is it possible to make a png, pmw, ptn with 3d tool?

Anything that the 3D tools can make can be turned into a pattern (.ptn) that anyone can use. If you also have the PE, you can export it as a .png and then anyone can edit it as their own.

How do you get a mpc into PE?

You group carve regions and make a pattern from the mpc in Designer. The pattern gets saved to your favorites list. Then in favorites, double click on the pattern. The PE will open with the pattern.

I must have to many patterns in favorites, but thanks for the info.

What do you mean? If you have the PE and you have created a pattern of your own, you can double click on it in favorites and it will open for editing in the PE. Does that not work for you?

I've just had a lot of crashing from the 3d tool and when I try to make a pattern it locks up. So I deleted some old unused ptns . and I've got it now. thanks

The ramp is the kind of thing I need. Did you create it with a 5 deg angle?

The ramp I made last week has a 5 degree angle. If you resize the depth or length the angle will change.
