I was in the middle of a carving, and acidentally hit the red button. I could not restart from where I was in the carving. Is there a way to resume, or just start over? :(

This is a common problem that has been discussed here on the forum.
I did a search and came up with this one (http://forum.carvewright.com/showthread.php?24636-Lost-Carving&highlight=zero+carve).

You mean you hit the red button twice and aborted the project? If so, you now need the "zero carve region" trick. Go back to the original mpc and create a 0.00 depth, rectangular carve region which almost covers up the area which did get carved. Upload and go through the setup process of carving the altered mpc. (A trick I like to use is to raise the head just a little after the bit touch on the board. Slowly lower the head again as the bit grazes over the part of the pattern already carved until it just starts cutting the surface.) If the line up does not seem right you can abort, remeasure, and try again.
