The painting of the horses was a learning tool for me I missed up on the size so thought I would see what my no good paint skills have improved or not.. I added drawer pulls to two of the boxes for legs... then something hit me in the forehead .. why not make my own legs so I incorporated that in my drawings...

I forgot to add that the horse pattern was the second pattern that Eddie (EELAMB), put so gracefully here on forum, the horse box with the incorporated legs is one I made for my wife's B-day..

Looking good. Time to step up to more exotic woods. I want to see what you can do with something like black walnut.

Dan, I'm going to Ohio at the end of this month I'm hoping to find different wood than what is around here in this area that is not so expensive maybe I can branch out of the pattern of wood I use, so anyone that can tell me where to go around the Columbus, Ohio where I might go I would thank you, maybe Docwheeler might know or around that area...

Here are a few that showed up on a search.

http://www.yoderlumber.com/about/sales_team.php
http://www.bagdadlumber.com/lumber-products.html
http://www.brennemanlumber.com/
http://www.hardwoodproducts.com/departments/

I've only been to the first one - Yoder.
If I can't find what I want at the big-box store, Rockler, or the Woodworking store, I order it from Niagara Lumber.

Thanks Docwheeler, I looked at the sites and so many different woods that it's gotta be carvers heaven.. If it wasn't for the cold I might want to live there.... on second thought ....no I don't think so !!
