Z encoder

Should I be able to spin the Z encoder by hand on the shaft? 99% sure I shouldn't be able to but wanted to see what everyone else said.

Not a good sign!
It needs to rotate with the shaft.
Not sure what glue to use.

Thanks doc. That's what I thought. I have never had to fiddle with one of these. A little super glue on the shaft with the encoder?

The shaft accelerates quickly, probably need a more "gummy" glue.

Gorilla glue work real well, but have to let it set overnight

I think I would try a little Loctite.

Both good ideas. I have some epoxy left over from fixing the flex shaft sheath.

So...threw some epoxy on it and it appears to be stuck again. Can't spin it without the whole shalt moving. Will try again tomorrow.

Anyone who is interested. The epoxy did the trick. I put some on the shift and where the encoder meets it. As well I put some in the very end of it.
