Ambrose,

It could be that the carving was not set to "optimal" when you uploaded it to the card, the bit optimization was not set to "Best" or a dull bit. Because of the chipping, my guess is bit optimization.

I just double checked the MPC and the bit optimization is set to best and I remember uploading it to the card as best. I chose best to upload it to my card which is a difference of 3 hours. This is a test carve, the customer is supplying some really nice Oak. Ive been noticing this more and more so your probably right my bit could be getting dull.

I would assume so I got it from our local lumber yard and its been inside my living room parked behind the couch for a few weeks. I really should invest in a moisture content reader thingamajig.

The curl and the bottom edge of the second pix is indicative of a dull bit. Plus, carve it at Best.
