Your carvings are second to none. Your attention to detail and the professional look are what I will strive for whenever I can get time to do some carving. Beautiful work displayed on your etsy page also.

Beautiful, how do you paint/stain the lettering so evenly.
Mine bleed into everything.

Doc,
After alot of trial and error I decided to use rustoleum fast dry oil stain, we then paint with acrylic paints, the oil stain prevents the paint from bleeding. if indoors I seal with tung oil out doors gets rustoleum spar finish. Just my preference I lean more toward a natural finish look as compared to polyurathane or a gloss finish.

Thank you for the reply.
I have been trying to finish some Jesus-face crosses with vinegar and steel wool and
have not figured out a way to keep it from bleeding into the face.

I guess I'm going to have to do the face first, sand the darker stuff off, seal it,
and then do the rest of it in order to have the face come out lighter.
I'm still "practicing"!

Edit: The vinegar solution "ages" the wood and creates a look that I like.

All your projects are terrific. Really like the extra detail patterns you've added to each one.

Those look great gives me some ideas. I'm not a Harley fan but I would be proud to have a sign like that outside my door.

Your projects looks great.... I been wanting to make a sign like that for my wife and I.. I've tried to do the layering for the wording but I the second layer with our names on it come up with the wording with a rise on the overlay what might I have been doing wrong ? This is an example of it I'm not done with the finish touches..

Do not use merge additive. Just use merge normal and play with the depths and then, if you have to, the heights.
