My last 2 projects (still testing) came out good with the exception of a distinct ridge a few inches into the carve. I circled the line in the photo as its barely noticeable - to the left of the line the carve raises up about 1/64" and then stays even the rest of the way. I'm thinking this is some sort of snipe but not sure what to call it or how it happens.
The first piece I did (8" x 7 3/4") had the ridge in about the same place. The second piece was 23" x 7 3/4". Wood is oak. I thought the in/out feed trays might be off level so I adjusted them slightly so they are pretty much level relative to the wood piece hitting the rollers.
In essence, the carve starts fine and then raises up about 1/64 the rest of the way. Any help or an explanation is appreciated.

Use the Stay Under Rollers option.

So if I'm not mistaken - using Stay Under Rollers suggests the workpiece should be longer then the actual design size and then trim the board afterwards?

Yes, your board needs to be 7" longer than the design to use stay under rollers.
