Finally got some time to clean up. It's something I do 3 or 4 times a year. It doesn't last too long so I take a picture. Both CW's working away!

You can never have too many tools. Also, doesn't matter how many tools you have, there is never enough room.

Congratulations show-off! Not sure I'll live long enough to have a clean shop again.
Its hard enough just to clear an area big enough to work on the current project.

Maybe photoshop can help me share a picture of a clean workshop.

Nice shop, Terry and you really did a good cleaning. I push a broom around every now and again, but it never looks that nice. Everything looks really well laid out. Thank you for sharing the pictures....

My shop - well, I hang my head in shame. Only half of a 2 car garage - and no air conditioning at that. Houstons springs, summers and fall can be hell.

Terry want to help me now. This area was clean before I started working about 2 hours ago. This one will come off and another one the same size will go on once I clean up a little. Then both will be waxed and sealed in paper with some of these shavings for about 2 months, before finishing them up. This bowl will be about 15.5" when done. Right now it is 16", what is on the floor is about 10" of shavings. Oh, I looked as bad as this too until I shook off the shavings.

Edit: forgot to mention everything left, right and behind me looks almost as bad as this for about 10', as the shavings flew everywhere.

Wow, I haven't used my lathe for a while. I forgot how much of a mess they can make! Too bad there isn't a market for bags of saw dust and shavings.

We just decided to shred the old paper work from our business the other day. It has been stored in my shop for as long as 18 years (IRS only requires you keep it for seven). I have large garbage bags full of shredded paper for a very reasonable price if anyone needs some. LOL

Just kidding folks. Not really trying to sell shredded paper........ well, ahh, unless.... naw, never mind. LOL

Eddie, I did get a good suggestion from someone though, maybe you can donate all of the wood shavings to a pet shop or animal shelter! That may be a very good idea.

If you know any Jig Saw puzzle fanatics, you can package up some sawdust and make a gag gift for them calling it an "extreme jig saw puzzle"

I'll have to do that with some of mine.

Terry this shavings is of walnut. When it is oak or pine, I dump in in the stalls for the horses. Walnut shaving with horse contact, can cause a condition called laminitis, which may involve breathing problems, lameness, and swelling of the hooves. Laminitis may be severe enough to require an afflicted horse to be destroyed. No cases of similar adverse events have been reported in humans or other animals.

I have a brother-in-law that must have been exposed to walnut shavings some time ago....

Another place to keep walnut shavings away from is your gardens. A walnut tree or its shavings will poison a garden in very short period of time...

WOW, there is a floor in there!

Cestout, after doing two of these, I removed 3 - 50gal trash cans of shavings. I did put it in the flower beds.

But in all honesty, my shop will not be as clean as Terry's until I pull everything out and do a clean sweep, for those shavings are everywhere:sad:
