Tierman,

Given some of his tools and shop surroundings I'm guessing southern Germany or Austria. Clear white pine probably from Germany, Switzerland or Czechoslovakia. I wish I could still get it here as it was a joy to carve by hand.

I should have stated that he was in Germany, good observation.
