Hey everyone,

I'm making a table and am thinking of adding an apron with a straight rope braid going the length of the apron. Anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Something like this? Made in 1.187 using sweep rail.

I was looking for something that had more of a braid to it. When I said straight, I meant not a circle as I have seen many like that. But, thanks! That pattern may come in handy down the road.

You might want to check this thread. http://forum.carvewright.com/showthread.php?20879-A-more-accurate-rope&highlight=straight+rope

Thanks! I do like the rope that "jpaluck" posted a thumbnail of in the 10th post of the thread. There is no mpc though. Should I send him a pm and see if he would share?

You could send him a PM include link to remind him what it looked like. Also check the files Badbert has in Medifile. I believe it is jpaluck rope made for door trim.

What is the actual size of your apron?

It is 2" x 41"

Are you looking for a rope border or just a section of straight rope? Maybe something like these?

Very nice. The straight one will do quite nicely. Thank-you so much!

This one is 40" in length. It might be a little closer to the length you need without stretching.

Here is a rope segment. Copy and paste to make as long as you want. Png also in case you want to edit.

This has nothing to do with the (rope pattern) but how do you change it from a mpc to a png ?

Typically, it is the other way around.. you would normally start with a png to ptn to mpc

The reason for a png is so that there is no protection and anyone can do what they want with it. You can import it into Designer and make a ptn out of it. You can edit it in other graphics programs before you import it or, if you have the PE, you can edit it in the PE.

You can go from mpc to png if you have the PE. Make a pattern from the mpc, open the pattern in the PE (double click on the pattern in favorites) now you can export to image and save it as a png.

That sounds easy enough, Thanks bergerud & dbfletcher.
