Font Spacing

I have updated to the latest 2.004 but continue to have the same issue....I can't see that font spacing is doing anything. I've tried different fonts. I have cranked it up from 5 to 25 and can't see any change on the virtual carve. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Did you highlight the characters you want to space?

Yes you have to highlight the characters
